Description
A wonderful discovery, this is a rare 1954 pocket map of Hyderabad, India, in Telugu, a South Indian Dravidian language. The map details the city of Hyderabad with important tourist attractions drawn in profile. The map was drawn by Baha ud-din Mahmud 'Salim' Siddiqi (the 'Salim' seems to be nom de plume). It was commissioned by Idarah-e Intizami, and published in Hyderabad by the Rafiq Machine Press Fine Art Lithographer. It appears to have been a tourist map that was published in at least one other language, Urdu. This map is very rare with only on other example, in Urdu, known.
Condition
Good. Some minor wear and verso repairs to original fold lines. Minor discoloration and verso repairs near title. Attached to original binder.
