Description


This is a c. 1935 Union des villes et centres touristiques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg pictorial map of Luxembourg. Pictorial illustrations highlight historic buildings throughout, including the Denzelt in Echternach (the oldest town in Luxembourg), Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg City, and Schoenfels Castle. Vibrant red lines define eight proposed itineraries.
Dating this Piece
This map was published by the Union des villes et centres touristiques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, which was founded in 1931. The Organization was dissolved several years later during the Nazi Occupation and replaced in 1945 by the Office luxembourgeois de tourisme.
