Description

This is a c. 1910 French map of the Mai Chau region of Vietnam. Located approximately 100 miles southwest of Hanoi, the map depicts the region from Pou Bo to the Dong Luong Plateau and from Pha Luong to Co Nam Tong and Samnua. Today the region is known as an escape from the hustle of Hanoi and an eco-tourist's paradise. Tourists flock to the region to spend the night in traditional stilt houses in traditional villages. Long walks through fields and the trek from Lac village to Xa Linh village are popular activities. Outdoor activities and 'traditional' living are the main draws.

This map is both unsigned and undated, making it difficult to date. We believe that it dates to the early 20th century.
