Description

This is a 1945 Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce city map or plan of Miami Beach, Florida. The map depicts the city from Biscayne Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean and from North Dade County Park to Virginia Key. Highly detailed, all the street in Miami Beach are labeled, along with important buildings, such as police stations, churches, post offices, and schools. City parks and golf courses are illustrated and shaded yellow to set them apart from the rest of the city. Main thoroughfares, into, out of, and within the city are noted by thick red lines, allowing 'the visitor and the newcomer may find [their] way.' Vignettes of surfers, dancing couples, fishermen, sailing, and sunbathing highlight the many leisure activities one can enjoy while visiting Miami Beach.

This map was published by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce in 1945.
