A Closer Look
Old Town Florence on the Siuslaw River is detailed, with shops, museums, and historic landmarks highlighted. Fifty-four businesses are numerically identified and correspond with an index at top and on the verso. Other locations are identified by name, such as the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum, the fly fishing museum, the fire station, the Florence grade school, and the historic Siuslaw River bridge. Pictorial vignettes promote local festivals, including the Rhododendron Festival in May, the Oregon Dune Mushers Mail Run and the Northwest Bass Classic in March, the annual salmon bar-b-que in September, and the Christmas Celebration and Tree Lighting in December.
