Jean Crépy (1660 - April 24, 1739), also spelled Crespy, was a French engraved based in Paris. Crépy was the son of a Parisian roaster (?). He retired from engraving following the April 1731 death of his wife, Marie-Vincente-Renée Chartier, selling his business to his sons. Jean Crépy was the first a multi-generational family of engravers, followed by his sons Louis Crépy (169? - 1760) and Etienne-Louis Crépy (1706 - 1759), and grandson Jean-Baptiste Crépy (fl. c. 1730 - 1796), called 'Crépy le Jeune'.
