Victor P. Dobrovolsky (fl. c. 1940 - c. 1965) was born in Siberia and received no formal training in art. Nonetheless, he became a successful graphic artist, beginning his career in provincial publishing houses as a book illustrator. By the 1950s, Dobrovolsky was working as a caricaturist and poster designer in Moscow.
