Tom Eaton (1940 - 2016) was an American illustrator based in Kansas City, Missouri. He is best known for his long association (1984 - 2015) with Boys’ Life magazine. After studying engineering at the University of Kansas, Eaton was drawn to a career as an illustrator, beginning work with Hallmark Cards in Kansas City before beginning two years of army service. Afterwards, he returned to work at Hallmark and then spent several years as an art editor with Scholastic Books in New York City, before returning to Kansas City to begin his long career with Boys’ Life.
