Paul Georges Aimé Le Cointe (September 24, 1870 - February 3, 1956) was a French chemist and geographer most active in the Brazilian Amazon in the early 20th century. Le Pointe was born in Tournon, Ardeche, France. He is best known for identifying the properties of Ucuuba Tallow and performing the rest studies of the chemistry and toxicology of Ryania genus plants. He died in Belém in 1956. The genus of flowering plants, family Fabacease, Lecointea, is named after him.
