The Geographicus Rare Antique Maps biographical dictionary of cartographers is a growing list of mapmakers covering from the 3rd through the 20th centuries. There are currently more than 3000 biographies present - many of which are the only studies of these individuals available anywhere. We typically add 10 - 15 additional cartographers each week. While there are thousands of cartographers yet to be added, most major cartographers active between the 17th and the mid-20th century are here biographized. Where we have access to images, these are added. In addition, examples of each cartographer's works are represented in high resolution.
